Rural Clinic Initiative

Finished your naturopathic studies... Now What?

You’ve spent years studying, learning herbs, memorising nutritional biochemistry, and trying to absorb everything you possibly can.

But then you start seeing real clients… and suddenly it feels very different.

Because no one really prepares you for the moment where you’re the practitioner in the room.

The moment where someone is sitting in front of you looking for answers, and you’re trying to quiet the voice in your head asking:

  • What if I don’t know enough yet?
  • What if I miss something important?
  • What if another practitioner would handle this better than me?
  • How do I know what to prioritise when everything feels important?
  • Am I overthinking this… or underthinking it?
  • Why does everyone else seem so much more confident than I feel?

You care deeply about getting good outcomes for your clients.
That’s why you second-guess yourself.

But confidence in clinical practice doesn’t come from more case research.

It comes from seeing real cases.
Having support around you.
Watching how experienced practitioners think.
Learning how to make decisions in the grey areas.

You don’t need to have it all figured out yet.

You just need the right environment to help you find your feet.

And that’s exactly why The Rural Clinic Initiative was created.

Introducing you to the Rural Clinic Initiative

The Rural Clinic Initiative

is a program I designed to bridge that gap between study and real clinical practice.

Not through theory, but through being inside a real, working clinic.

You won’t just be told what to do.

You’ll see it, understand it, and begin to feel it for yourself.

By the end of the 5 days, you won’t feel like you’re guessing anymore.

Instead, you’ll feel…

More confident in making clinical decisions in real situations.

Clearer on what tests to use, when and why.

More comfortable prescribing, without overthinking it.

More grounded in how to run a consultation with purpose.

More prepared to step into practice without feeling overwhelmed.

You’ll also gain something harder to teach, but incredibly important.

A sense of steadiness in yourself as a practitioner.

What’s included?

Real-life, hands-on, experience…

Over the 5 days, you’ll be immersed in real clinic life and practical learning.

This includes:

+ 5 days inside a busy regional naturopathic clinic

+ Observation of real client consultations

+ Practical training in testing and how to apply it clinically

+ Guidance on confident prescribing

+ Hands-on experience with developing compounded nutritional powders

+ Product knowledge, samples and GP referral templates

+ Daily lunches and a shared meal experience.

+ CPE certificate upon completion.

A different kind of learning …

Enjoy a tour of Windy Station

On the Wednesday afternoon, we step outside the clinic.

We travel together to Windy Hill Station, a working farm near Quirindi.

You’ll see regional life up close, walk through the property while the canola is in bloom, visit the heritage-listed shearing shed, and hear what life on the land really looks like.

On the way home, we’ll share a meal together at The Graze Inn.

This part of the experience matters.

Because rural practice is not just about clinical skills, it’s about understanding the people and communities you are working with.

You’ll also get…

Nourishment throughout the week

Lunch will be provided each day, with simple, nourishing meals designed to support you through the week.

We understand that everyone is different, so meals will be thoughtfully prepared with dietary requirements and food sensitivities in mind.

This is not just about convenience, it’s about creating space for you to pause, connect, and feel looked after during your time in clinic.

A shared meal experience

During the week, we’ll also come together for a shared meal at The Graze Inn.

This is a chance to step out of the learning space and simply enjoy good food, conversation, and connection in a relaxed country setting.

These moments often become some of the most memorable, where stories are shared, questions are asked more freely, and connections are built with others walking a similar path.

This is not just about convenience, it’s about creating space for you to pause, connect, and feel looked after during your time in clinic.

And receive a certificate of completion.

My vision for this program…

Students and new graduates that I have mentored through the clinic come to me lacking confidence, and I see them develop into capable, knowledgeable practitioners.

Not because they aren’t good enough, but because they haven’t been supported properly in the transition into practice.

This initiative exists to change that.

To support you as you step into your role as a practitioner.
To help you feel steady in your decisions.
To give you real-world experience, not just theory.

And just as importantly, to highlight the depth and opportunity that exists in regional healthcare.

Rural communities need practitioners who feel confident and capable.

And as a practitioner, there is so much value in working in these spaces.

Why Jayne?

With over 20 years of experience in health, sitting across from clients, supporting complex cases, and walking alongside women through some of the most challenging stages of their health.

Every day in my clinic, I see what new practitioners are stepping into.

Not just the clinical side, but the emotional weight of wanting to get it right. Wanting to help. Wanting to feel confident in your decisions.

And I also see where the gap is.

Most graduates are knowledgeable, but they haven’t yet been shown how to apply that knowledge in a real, human setting. They haven’t been supported to trust themselves or to feel steady in their clinical thinking.

That’s where this work comes from.

Over the years, I’ve worked with a wide range of clients and conditions, and developed a practical, grounded approach to care that balances testing, clinical insight, and real-life application.

This experience shapes everything inside this program.

I’ve created this to give you what I see is missing:
real exposure, practical understanding, and a steady way of approaching clinical care.

Not rushed. Not overwhelming. Not theoretical.

Just supported, hands-on learning inside a real clinic environment.

You won’t be expected to know everything.

You’ll be guided, supported, and given the space to build confidence in your own way of practising.

…More about Windy Station

Nestled on 60,000 acres of rich, fertile land, Windy Hill Station offers a quiet glimpse into the rhythm of life on the land.

During your time there, you’ll walk the property, visit the historic shearing shed, and experience a part of regional Australia that many don’t often see.

Depending on the season, you may see crops in bloom, hear stories of the land, and gain a deeper understanding of the people and communities that shape rural life.

It’s a chance to step outside the clinic, slow down, and connect with the environment.

An experience that stays with you, not just for what you see, but for how it helps you understand the bigger picture of rural health and community.
